Win a Free Spot on a Teacher PD Trip
WHAT IS THIS?
Every year, Atlas Workshops offers open-enrollment professional development workshops for teachers who run global education programs with middle and high school students. This school year we are offering three PD opportunities for global educators:
Weekend Trip Leader Training in NYC (November 11-14, 2019)
CDMX: Design Thinking and Tacos in Mexico City (February 14-17, 2020)
Balkans: Post-War and Peace-Building Studies (August 1-10, 2020)
To help spread the word about these opportunities we are giving away one spot on the training of your choice!
Is there a Catch? No (But, We’d Like you to Join Our E-list)
We have a policy of never spamming schools and not filling teachers’ inboxes with junk. Instead, we have some great opportunities and articles for teachers, students, and schools — and want a way to share this with interested educators across the country. So our giveaway is simple: it is open to any U.S.-based middle or high school educator who is on our educator e-list by October 10th, 2019 and completes the below form.
This isn’t meant to be a catch, and if you unsubscribe at any point — no hard feelings.
Our intention is to grow our network of like-minded educators who are interested in building strong, thoughtful global education programs.
What’s the Prize Exactly?
There will be one first-place winner. The winner may choose to attend one of the three educator trainings for the 2019-2020 school year for free. This includes program tuition, included meals, and accommodations plus a budget to cover flights (based flight costs from key U.S. travel gateways). The total estimated value of this prize will not exceed $5,000.
Winning participants may be assigned a same-gender roommate, but can pay a supplement to have their own room. They may also need to cover modest additional costs, such as visas, personal items, checked luggage, extra meals/snacks beverages, etc., depending on the program. They will need to complete all necessary paperwork and waivers to join the program.
We will also select a runner-up for each program (three second-place winners) who will be offered a discounted rate on tuition if they still want to join their selected program.
HOW Do I Enter?
It’s easy — just join our e-list using the form below, including the required entry question. If you are already on the e-list you can still enter for the drawing using the form below (you can’t be added to the e-list twice but we do need your submission to know you’re interested in the free training).
All entries must be received by Thursday, October 10th, 2019. The Atlas HQ team will review all entries for eligibility, all educators with a demonstrated need and merit for joining will be entered into the contest. From there we will draw a first-place winner and three runners-up. We will notify winners via e-mail. If we don’t hear from the first-place winner within two days after they’re notified, we will select another winner until the first prize has been awarded.
There is no purchase necessary to enter, and a limit of one entry per person (the first one received in case of duplicates). If you prefer, you may also enter the drawing without joining the e-list by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Educator Contest 2020” and the program you are looking to join.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO WIN?
This contest is open to educators who work with middle or high school aged students at any type of school in the United States. You must live in the United States. Atlas trainings are designed for teachers with an interest in global issues, design, or student travel programs. You must have some demonstrated interest in your selected training and be willing to participate fully in the training program. You must also be physically able to travel to the training destination that you select on the given program dates.
HOW Will I know if I won?
We will pick our winners on Friday October 11th, 2019 and notify them via e-mail. If they prefer not to travel, or don’t get in touch with us, we will pick another winner. Once the winners have been chosen — we will share the news…via the e-list of course!
