Berlin & Prague 2016: Day 3 – Not the Tourist’s Prague
In 2016 we are leading 4 high school summer trips. You can read all about our Global Innovators trips or get in touch to ask us any questions about the programs. Our 2016 Berlin & Prague trip “Hacking the City” focuses on innovation, start-ups and community in cities around the world. During the trip, students take turns writing a daily blog post to describe their project process and exploration, follow along here.
Today was the third of our four days in Prague.
After our breakfast at the hotel we started off the day by taking a scenic walk along the river to the historic Charles bridge. Afterwords, we walked to the Lenin wall where we talked to locals and tourists and got their opinions on whether or not they felt that tourists really saw Prague and if they wanted to see the less famous areas. Following our enlightening conversations we went to get lunch and ate at a nearby park.
Following our meals we reflected upon our conversations and did an exercise where we came up with ideas on how to bridge the disconnects that prevent tourists from seeing the more normal Prague and headed back to our hotel for a little rest.
Later in the evening we headed to a vegetarian restaurant with a beautiful interior and had a wonderful dinner before heading to back to the hotel for the final time of the day before retiring for the night.
